Proprietess & Chef

Maile Deligianis

North Shore born and raised, Maile Deligianis acquired her first culinary experiences after high school, when she traded the North Shore mountains for the Swiss Alps. Maile studied Hotel Management near Zurich before returning to Vancouver where she worked in hospitality until graduating from Vancouver’s Dubrulle French Culinary School with a diploma in the Professional Culinary Arts.

She stayed on working at Dubrulle as a chef assistant and then completed Dubrulle’s Professional Desserts and Pastry Arts program, which is when Maile came to the sweet realization that her true calling was as a pastry chef.

Maile has many years of experience in Vancouver’s culinary scene starting with Culinary Capers Catering and then working as Pastry Chef for Umberto Menghi’s Circolo in Yaletown, the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Gallery Cafe, and later at Carmelo’s in West Vancouver’s Ambleside neighborhood. In 2014, Maile opened Pemberton Heights Pastry, where she attracted an avid following for her savoury and sweet creations.

In 2020, she and her husband and business partner Louie Deligianis opened Kitchen Craft Eatery at 210-150 West Esplanade in North Vancouver’s LoLo, or Lower Lonsdale, neighborhood. Maile and Louie have a daughter, Eva, and a new fur baby, Daisy the Corgi.

Louie Deligianis

A first-generation Canadian, Louie Deligianis was born to Greek immigrants in Toronto and is fully bilingual thanks to spending every Saturday in Greek School from grades 1 to 12.

As a teen, Louie worked alongside his aunt and uncle in a family restaurant where he developed a strong work ethic based on reliability, dedication and respectfulness. A few years after finishing university, in 1995, Louie moved to Vancouver. Here, he developed, as most people do, a love for the west coast and its natural beauty.

Louie initially lived in East Vancouver, Kitsilano and downtown’s West End. When he and wife Maile Deligianis moved to the North Shore just one month before the birth of their daughter, Eva, he knew this was where he wanted to raise his family.

Louie has completed the Canadian Securities Course and has also worked for over 10 years as the Chief Financial Officer for Lonsdale Capital, a family investment business.

Louie enjoys photography, woodworking, gardening and, along with Maile, being a consummate host to friends and family at their home. His natural hospitality and Maile’s culinary talents and experience come together in Kitchen Craft Eatery, the Shipyard District’s oasis above Esplanade.

With our years of restaurant experience, passion for food and emphasis on stellar service, we anticipate many fulfilling years of building relationships with our guests and helping our community along the way.
